課程概述 |
This is an introductory course to the theory and practice of translation. We will cover translation theory, explore how translators learn and work, compare English to Chinese, study Chinese & English rhetoric, explore translation strategies, and most importantly, work on overcoming linguistic and cultural hurdles as we travel back and forth between English and Chinese.

1. To introduce students to the art and skills of translation.
2. To enhance the bilingual and bicultural competencies of the students. |

1. Classroom attendance and participation are crucial. 2. There will be required reading and follow-up exercises and projects. 3. All students are required to keep a learning journal. |
